Peace now
How can this be
In an age such as this
With all the technology
And continuity
At our fingertips
Twenty twenty two
The global pandemic
Ramping down for now
With nuclear possibilities
Ramping up
World war three
Seems to be
At the edge
Of a missels tip
Away from the next day
Maybe today
All this pain
But it’s not just in Ukraine
So many countries
Lead by military dictators
Haters and deflectors
Only seeing their own gain
Power and control
To command the chaos
Economic tactics
Sanctions and oligarchs squeezing
Isn’t reliving the pressure
The bleeding and the needy
Just trying to flee to safety
Don’t we have the capacity
To do more to bring peace
To aid is to join the fray
And become prey
So it seems
All this tip toeing
Around Putin
And other Dictators
War games
To what end?
The final peace
Death
On a massive scale
Another culling of lives
Taken too soon
Many have not even
Begun to walk or talk
Or live
Lights snuffed out
With barely a chance to shine
So how do we bring peace
Start within
Cultivating the calm
Eye if the storm
Within the hurricane of chaos
Raging more each day
And send intentions out
And take inspired action
For changes of hearts
And minds
For clarity
Communication
Accountability
And recovery
May we have peace now
May it be the serenity
Settle in the knowing
Repeating for showing
Myself and my anxiety
The worry monster
That rages inside of me
My mantra to reframe
We are safe
We are loved
We are protected
And we are resilient as fuck
Find peace within
Do not add to the chaos
Add to the clarity
Stillness, thoughtfulness
Responsiveness
And peace in time
Will come
