This piece is composed of acrylic paint, floetrol, isopropyl alcohol, my own breastmilk, Palo santo charcoal, liquid silicone, gloss varnish and glitter.

In the middle of a present I never anticipated, quarantined and locked down world wide I created this painting to help bring about a brighter and better future. One where our current state is transitory and transformative. It highlights all the cracks in our personal and global practices that have caused the organism of the earth and the organisms of ourselves to wreak havoc on our systems. We are individually and uniquely brilliant, beautifully minded and big hearted creators who have focused too long on all our differences and competing, instead of all that connects us and collaborating.

In the midst of all the fear uprisings that is totally warranted, I’m working to process, feel through and accept my personal darkness to bring myself back into alignment. No one has or ever will be perfect, but we can evolve and adapt to our rapidly changing world. I’ve been on a process of this for years and I still am feeling all the feels this week and coming to grips with some of the darkest aspects of myself. And you know what? When we accept it and work for harmony and balance with all, light and dark and the in between… and move away from fear and towards love… that, my friends is where the magic happens.

Move away from the patterns of the past and look at this time as the opportunity to fall back in love with who you really are, not who society or your family thinks you should be. 20 ⛈The Future Unknown

Tears tracking lines down my cheeks
Fears bubbling up out of the darkest depths of my mind
What if, how can, why…
All unanswered questions spinning in my brain
Let. Go.

I can’t control the waves
I can only ride with them
I can’t control others
I can love them or leave them
I don’t know when the storm will end
I know brighter days are on the way
Let. Go.

Prepare for the worst
Hope for the best
My default mode
Unconsciously creating
My worst nightmares
Because I already believed
Prepared for their arrival
Let. Go.

Just be you.
Let your light shine, people say
The energy that ignites that light
Is draining
Stretched too thin
Taken on too much
Lost focus on what really matters
Caught up in the whirlwind of others troubles
If I can help them
Maybe my troubles won’t seem so bad
Let. Go.

Focus
Don’t get pulled apart
The demands and needs of others can wait
Look inside
The answers are already there
You’ve just been listening to everyone Except yourself
